Flameclan: Newcomers to the land, Flameclan was initially known for their isolated, almost secretive nature. They are fiercely protective of their borders, mainly the landbridge leading off their oasis. However, as a few of the neighboring clans began to reach out, they realized that, while they were still fiercely protective of all that they owned, they also had compassionate hearts. Out of all the clans, they were most likely to step in when things got into trouble, and whenever another clan needed an ally, Flameclan would be one of the first to offer up. However, they still carry their secrets deep, and frequently do not share at Gatherings unless it is of the utmost importance. A little put off by Flameclan, the other clans respect them, but, in private, wonder who they really are. [133/100]
Reputation: Flameclan is known to their surrounding clans as a group of outcasts. They are secretive, and frequently do not share information, and the other cats are a little put off by them. However, despite their tendency to keep quiet, they are known as the best friend and worst enemy to have. Flameclan is quick to act on any perceived injustice or threat to the warrior code, and will defend their clan and their allies to the death. At Gatherings, Flameclan cats are frequently the oddities; nobody knows quite what to make of them, but they are appreciated nonetheless for their loyalty and compassion. Even if they are hard to truly figure out. [112/50]
Traditions Flameclan has always been a bit quirky in the way tings are run, due to their patchwork history and differing backgrounds. Each cat seems to bring something different to the table, bringing in especially endearing pieces of their background to form an incredibly diverse clan environment. One example would be how when cats are given a ceremony, instead of the respectful licking of the shoulder, in honor of Maplepaw's apprentice ceremony, the leader taps cats on the forehead to appoint them into their positions. Additionally, kits often will collect interesting things from the lake, such as seashells or seaglass, and build them into a small pile next to the fresh kill pile called the finders pile. Any cat is welcome to take from this pile, either for a piece of personal security, or as a gift for a friend or mate. Also, the crossing of the land-bridge into the dry territory is considered a sacred crossing, the leaving of safe and secure territory into the unknown, and cats are to remain silent as they cross the bridge. Any cat who becomes stressed, dismayed, or needs a step away is encouraged to go to the landbridge to think before a grand decision is made. The sun-drown place also serves this purpose. Lastly, kits are taught how to climb and traverse trees from a young age, so that by the time they are warriors they are incredibly skilled in scaling and climbing trees, so much as that they can fight in them. Overall, the clan, while a bit patchwork, has their endearing qualities, just like any other clan, just like the pieces of seaglass built up in the finders pile. [280/100]
